Martlets Messenger - Newsletter Number 3.
Christmas 2004
Can't believe I'm wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year it comes
around so quickly. It has been an extraordinary year at the cattery; very busy meeting lots
of new cat people and their beautiful cats. We felt that the summer weather was rather
disappointing in Upper Dicker, but many of you went to such wonderful near and distant
places that I'm sure that won't have worried you.
Trevor and Lisa very much appreciate the support we have received from our kind, considerate clients during the year.
We have been forced to make changes to the hours the cattery is open for our sanity and you have not only understood
but many have actively supported the decision. We now have some time to ourselves and feel so much better. Lisa is
finding food shopping and Christmas shopping possible. Trevor is still planning all those little jobs around the place that
he has been promising to do!!!!!!!
Many of you will have met Steph during her time at Martlets. Steph left us earlier in the year to work full time as an office
manager and we wish her well. We are now most fortunate to have Alison and Caroline to help us.
Alison lives in Newhaven with her dad and brother (who are so potty about cats that they also
visit from time to time) two cats and a dog. She is devoted to the care and wellbeing of the cats
- nothing is too much trouble.
Caroline works mostly at the weekends as she has two little boys Joshua 3 and Connor 1
year. She has lots of experience of working with animals mostly in rescue situations having
spent some time working at Battersea Dogs Home. She has her own menagerie and like
me, a very tolerant hubby.
Martlets was blessed with three litters of kittens this year - one litter from LP - an oriental cinnamon spotted tabby to Ra,
my handsome seal pointed Siamese stud and two litters from Anna my chocolate classic tabby girl. Our latest were born
on the 16th October and comprise 3 boys and 1 girl (Anna is always sensible and has nice small litters) The little girl is
Havana (called Cassini) as is one of the boys (Cornelius) the other boys are Oriental Lilac (Titan) and Lilac pointed
Siamese (Philipini). They are at the time of writing - 6 weeks old learning to eat and climb curtains!!!
